Any suggestions for getting a more painted look?
Thanks.

It's a bit like asking if someone can give you a button to click in C++
or other tool so that you can whip up a program like Photoshop itself.
The filters are only crude pointers, if that. If you study painting and
practice it for 20 years then you'll know exactly what to do.
Buy several books about Impressionism and enjoy them. Create your own
work. You'll be much happier than with what PS spits out via a filter
made in California.

Might try the History brush in Impressionist mode ...
Filters from Paint Alchemy 2 (Xaos Tools) are good but this is not an
inexpensive program ...
I think I saw a couple of articles on the Adobe web site about this from Luanne
Seymour Cohen regarding creating "painterly images" ... in one she was showing
how to use the Impressionist option of the rubber stamp tool. Free too ...
The Wow! book has several Actions included on the CD that give painterly
effects. You can deconstruct the actions and see exactly what steps they did
and modify to suit your tastes. I think you can get the latest book for about
$50 or so.
Hope this helps.
