Just started using PSP V7 B5 and have found the wonderful tool called
Picture Framing! I am especially in love with the Photo Edge 01 and
02.
Is there a way to use this tool so that I can use the resultant image
on a coloured background?
At the moment I use the tool, and make white the transparent colour
and save it as a gif. But placing that image on a coloured background
produces a spotty white effect cause of the differing shades of white
used.
Is there a way round it, cause I would love to use this effect in
conjunction with coloured backgrounds.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like you're trying to use
the Photo Edge frames as masks, instead of their intended purpose as
frames? Look around the net for some masks similar in shape and design
as the Photo Edge frames and use those instead....you won't get those
stray off-white pixels showing up on your colored background. Don't
have any URL's offhand for masks you can download, but I'm sure someone
will come along and point you to a few hundred or so...<g>...and maybe
even some good tutorials on using them.

Thanks! It worked perfectly using the masks.
Diana mentioned in another post that her masks were not for
distribution. Does that mean I cannot use them on a video cover for a
short film I am involved in?

You'd have to ask her about that.

This is your permission to use my masks to design/decorate your video
cover, I do not care if it is a nonprofit or profit project in this
instance. I do require one always ask for permission to use any of my
images in or on for profit products, I don't want to find my images on
a T-shirt in a store without my cut. ;-)

Thanks. I used one of the masks on a few of the photos on the cover.
You can see the results here...

It is a screen dump from Publisher, so it don't look that good... but
it shows you the mask effect.
