I'm looking for a good PSP tutorial on how to make a photo look like
watercolor painting. I found a few but I couldn't come up with a satisfying
result. Help...

Thanx.

Jay

You might try the Fantastic Machines Paint Engine plugin. It does
watercolor plus many other artistic simulations.

any tutorials on using fantastic paint engine? I've had it for some
time but can't figure out how it works - i play around in it but never
can replicate/predict the results. Carol

Unless someone's written one during the last year or so, the answer's
no. It was requested here in the ng that someone should write one, but
seems that nobody can figure out exactly what *all* the controls do. So
I will write a tut right now. Here it is:

Step 1. Open Paint Engine
Step 2. Experiment with the presets and controls until you have an
effect you like.
Step 3. Click "Apply".

Hope this helps <g>.

Seriously, the more you do play around with it, the more you will see
what the various controls do. Did you put the fmachine.ini file
(included in the zip file) into your Windows folder? That gives you a
whole lot of presets to start with.

Yep, you recall correctly ;-) Glad you mentioned that too, I'd forgotten
about it, because I rarely save the effects .. but the option is
available.
