Hi my name is Bonnie and I am new to PSP and this group. I have psp6 and am
having an error message when trying to do a lesson on "Creating Text on Path
from Sams book. It keeps telling me "not enough memory to complete this
operation...adjust memory settings". I have 96MB of memory and have closed
all other applications (disabled zip magic, etc.) all I'm trying to do is
open a new file 500X500 72ps to create a circle.
Is there a way to alot more memory to psp. Have checked the ten most asked
questions and the psp help file and Sams Teach Yourself psp6 and the Jasc
book.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Empty your C:\Windows\Temp folder for one. Reduce or eliminate your Undo
steps under Preferences/General Program Preferences/Undo.

Make sure you aren't trying to open an image 500 x 500 "inches" rather than 500
x 500 pixels.

Hi, Bonnie. When you go into File > New, make sure you don't have your
units of measure set to inches...should be pixels. That's usually the cause
of that problem.

Well, inches is fine as long as you don't set it to 500 x 500! Which is
what Bonnie was trying to make...a 500x500 pixel image, and I'm thinking she
may have it set to inches instead of pixels (500x500 inches would require a
supercomputer, I think!).

Jo,
Thank you very much. That was the problem. Once I set the units of measure
to pixel image, it worked.

Jo,

re: I'm thinking she may have it set to inches instead of pixels (500x500

Oh, I got ya. I thought inches, in general, was some sort of memory 'no-no'
that I hadn't heard of. I have a memory leak now from my virus checker, so I
am conscious about losing any more!

Thanks!

Make sure you clean out the windows temp folder once in a while also as this
can cause out of memory errors.
