Flood Fill Tool

the flood fill tool as I used to.
In the past, if I used the Magic Wand to select a number of different
letters in the scan of an old print ad - unconnected selections - and
I then used the Flood Fill Tool to click on any one of those
selections, ALL the selections would be filled with the new color.
Now, for some reason I haven't been able to determine, when I make a
number of independent, unconnected selections, and use the Flood Fill
Tool, ONLY the selection I'm clicking on fills with color.
How do I make ALL my independent selections fill with color when I use
the Flood Fill Tool, without having to individually click on each
selection? (As I used to do.)
How this question makes sense.

i.e. probably has to be "None" entered there. If something else well,
it'd only fill ..if it or whatever MATCHed the criteria within the
selection or selections.

Same applies In the FLOOD FILL's Tool Options
make sure "Match Mode: [None ]" is selected to completely fill a
selection or selections ..if in some other match mode ..you probably
have to click in each selection individually ..though, it may be also
predicated on the Tolerance setting.
example: I just created 4 rectangular selections of a Photo each
selection 'quite' different in its/their color contents. With,
Tolerance set to ZERO, RGB, flood fill's foreground color - WHITE
..only the area where I click on within a particular selection was of
the same color (blue in this case) ..got changed to white ..click
elsewhere ..that particular point got changed ..nothing in the other
3 selections got any changes to white. ..move to selection #2 click
within ..then something that exactly matched that particularly
clicked on pixel got changed to white. It didn't matter that it was
not BLUE in this particular #2 selection ..whatever the particular
pixel's color was ..is now changed to White

Thanks for the detailed answer! I'm not at the right computer to look
into your suggestion at the moment but I'll experiment with Match Mode
- None and the Tolerance setting.

Yes, you were exactly right. Set the Flood Fill Tool match mode to
NONE, and ALL selections were filled as I'm used to. Thanks again!
