Are these similar and/or competitive products? Painter got a great review on
C|Net, but I couldn't tell how close it was to PSP.

Does anyone who has both care to comment on which is better? Assuming they
are competing products of course.

I have Painter 6 and love it thought it is very different than PSP. I use
Paint Shop Pro for 99% of my graphics needs but do play with Painter on
occasion. Painter is difficult to learn to use but has many features I would
of loved to see in PSP. If you want to paint Painter is the best but if you
want to edit photos, do web graphics and such PSP it tops. Oh and that isn't
saying PSP can't paint either as I do it all the time with PSP.

I lobbied Jasc to purchase Painter when it was up for grabs but Corel got it
instead. I have real doubts about Corel's support but won't go into that at
this time.
