Hi community,

Thank you for your help at other moments.

I need to write the symbol "lesser than" and "greater than" at set
title.

I use gnuplot, but I don't like to use the symbols << or >>, because
one little space is between the symbols.

Thank you, for your help

I use the terminal postscript, but I didn't get this feature

You need to use the guillemet symbols.
Here's dialogue from a little test using the octal ascii codes.
Try it yourself:
gnuplot> set title "The symbols are left and right guillemets. Thus: \253
and \273"
gnuplot> show title

title is "The symbols are left and right guillemets. Thus: « and »",
offset at ((character units) 0, 0, 0)

Cheers,
Peter

Hi,

It seems that these symbols are not available in Aqua. I can, however,
produce them in X11. (recent cvs version)

Best wishes,

Ingo

Guillemets are quotation marks, the correct lesser-than symbol is ≪
(U+226A). I don't know how you can get this with the postscript
terminal, 'set encoding utf8' is not enough, maybe someone else can
comment on this.
With the pdfcairo terminal it works (also with the epscairo terminal,
which is in the CVS version). Another option would be to use the
epslatex terminal.

The correct lesser-than symbol is simply <. The ≪ means "much lesser
than". Even more tricky is the "less than or equal to" symbol or the
"less than or approximately equal to" symbol. The latter doesn't even
exist in the standard LaTeX fonts.

Best wishes,

Ingo

Hi

Thank you for your time and your suggestions.

I modified symbol's size, because it is small.

set label "a{/=25 \273}b" at 750,2.15 rotate by +90

Thank you
