I can plot an isolines graph from
a datafile, with data given x,y,z in a file called 'data3d.dat'
with next instructions.

set data style lines
set contour base
set nosurface
set view 180,180,1,1
splot "data3d.dat" notitle

Up to now I know how to show just the isolines in a x-y plot,
but I can't see all isolines as solid lines and the values
over each isoline instead outside the plot, in a legend.
Is it possible to do i so? I have unix version 3.5
Thanks in advance!

gnuplot doesn't give you very good control over the contours. With
"set noclabel" you can get the same line style used for all the
contours, but there will be no contour labels at all.

gnuplot has no means of writing the labels on the contours themselves --
they can only be written in the key (which is what gnuplot calls the
legend).

I hope I haven't misunderstood your questions.
