Good Morning ;
excuse me ... I don't speak English very well, but I hope you understand me
equally ...!!!.
My target (... and my problem !!!!) is to place on a Visual Basic picture
box a Gnuplot graph using a bitmap file as buffer ( and not using
"clipboard" ).
How can I do to redirect a gnuplot graph to any bitmap file ???!
I use program "wgnuplot.exe" (ver. 3.5 ... from "gpt35win.zip") under
"Windows '95".
I put the next commands on gnuplot ' s window :

gnuplot>set terminal window
gnuplot>set output 'myfile.bmp' (buffer file)
gnuplot>plot sin(x)

and results are :
-) "myfile.bmp" is created on the same directory of wgnuplot;
-) "myfile.bmp" dimension is 0 (zero) bytes.

On directory "GNUPLOT" (... my work-directory) there are the next files :

WGNUPLOT.EXE
WGNUPLOT.HLP
WGNUPLOT.INI
WGNUPLOT.DLL

I thank you for attention and hope that you can help me.
Good bye to All, Giovanni Cutuli

You van create GIF files, but you need a seperate library for this, which can
be found on: http://science.nas.nasa.gov/~woo/gnuplot/beta/. You can compile
GNUPlot with this library. But because you use Windows, I guess you want a
precompiled binary. I don't know where you can get that. Does anyone else??

Hi Giovanni,
according to my knowledge there is no "bmp" - terminal. You will have to find
out whether Visual Basic can handle different formats such as "wmf" (Windows
Metafile". If so, you should be able to say:

set terminal windows
set output "myfile.wmf"
plot sin(x)

As far as I know the name should be "windows" rather than "window"!
