I started using gnuplot in 1991, and from time to time I still use gnuplot.
First of all, thanks to all that have kept GnuPlot alive.
As I want to use GnuPlot again, I installed the latest binary for the latest
release 4.4 on Windows 7 Prof. I am experiencing severe problems:
-- The help files are no longer supported (with Windows XP no pro in the
last few years)
-- I installed the old Help-Viewer (6.1), but still run into problems. The
help file cannot be opened.
-- The default "wxt" terminal does not show any result. I have to manually
kill the process.
-- The old default "set term windows" produces the results as desired.
Is there a way out? Do I have to wait to use 4.5 with native Windows 7
integration?
Thanks for any hints.
Regards,
Peter.

The help file still doesn´t work, though. The error message suggests
copying the help file to another drive (?!?) and there´s an error
code(?) 136.
error message appears three times, then you see an empy help viewer.

I am not going to accept one minute, term windows is fine for me.
Severe is, that the help function is not avaialble.
You are right, being patient will the solution ... waiting for a binary for
Win7 that works as fine as all those variants in the past 20 years on
non-unix systems.

The help file ist OK, its just the win7 security system playing
tricks on you. Install (unpack) gnuplot as administrator, and remove
the "access vorbidden" flag on the help file. then it works, without
administrator priviledges, too.
