LAB in Gimp

I have been trying Gimp and I'm impressed. One thing I miss 'though is LAB
colour
Does anyone know of a plug in to use this ???

What exactly do you want to do in the L*a*b colour space?
Is it because of advanced sharpen issues?

Would be neat if you could configure which color coordinates appear in
the color picker.

I.e. a choice of one or more of either RGB, HSV, HSL, Hex, Lab, etc.,
etc., etc.
