Load XCF and save layers as PNGs in Python

I want my Python program to be able to open an XCF file and save each
layer as a PNG or JPG using GIMP2.

I am unable to find some sample code to show howto load and save
correctly with GimpFu.py.

There is a set of command line tools for extracting layers from XCF files:

I just upgraded to Ubuntu Fiesty Fawn to install it. That is exactly
what I needed for my program!!!
