OpenGL promises faster processing with some graphics cards.
As far as I know one has to enable OpenGL on the command line
"GEGL_USE_OPENCL=yes" before it can be used by the programme.
There is probably a good reason why it cannot be set within Gimp.
Any idea for automating this step?
System opensuse 12.2 64bit, gimp 2,8.4

As far as I know, open cl is a work in progress in gimp-2.9.1, and it's
swtiched off at the moment.
The graphics card may do open cl, but it has to be in the code to work ;-)
