Grainy Depth of Field using Mental Ray

Hi all,

I am trying to get depth of field rendered nicely using Mental Ray
1.5.1/Maya 4.5. The images look quite good but if you look up close those
parts of the images that should be blurry are actually grainy. Is there
anything one can do to reduce the grainyness and make it more blurry (I
don't want to make the effect more pronounced, just "cleaner"). I'm using
Final Gather, the camera has a Focal length of 25mm and a focus center at
450mm....
