is that the 180, 200, or 240MHz model? how much RAM on board?
did it have the standard 1.3, 2, or 3G hard drive, and was it a 6x or 12x
cd-rom? does it have the base 16M RAM or was it upgraded (16 is rather
limitied if running 8.1- esp. with internet software)
details are important if you're gonna sell this baby.
the 3400, is a 8500 crammed into a laptop acc. to MacWorld's MacSecrets 5th
Edition (IDG Books, Pogue/Schorr)
based on the PowerPC 603ev chip running in models of 3 different speeds,
these machines carried a 256k level 2 cache, 4 speakers (16 bit sound
in/out), graphic accelerated hardware and 10BASE-T ethernet and 33.6
internal modem all built in, sporting a whopping 64-bit buswidth running at
40MHz, and the onboard VRAM could easily power an external 1024x768 monitor
in addition to its own 800x600 12" diagonal screen.
These machines came stocked with a mere 16M RAM, but are upgradeable to 144.
expandability options include 2 slots for PC expansion cards.
not the greatest for internet gaming, but excellent for those "on the go"
tasks college and high school students can complete while commuting via
transit.
