I wonder if anyone knows the typeface used in the UK release of
Kraftwerk's 1974 album Autobahn, that also appears (in a lighter
weight) on all of the Timex-Sinclair software releases from 1983.

"What the font" didn't turn up any results for me.

It appears to be some form of Bauhaus, possibly in the "Rounded
Sans-Serif" sub-type. The "B" open at the bottom is quite
characteristic of the basic Bauhaus font.

Remember that, for the use you show, it is possible that several Bauhaus
fonts were mixed. The "R" resembles one of the variations in Burko
Circle. The "G" is similar (but not quite the same) as in Ronda, Harry,
or Triplex Sans. The "A" with the open cross-bar exists in Yagi
Universal, but the cross-bar is much lower in that font. All of these
are Bauhaus rounded sans-serif fonts.

Go to <http://bowfinprintworks.com/BauhausFaces1.html>. You will have
to do a manual search among the fonts there. Also, you might look at
the other sub-types of Bauhaus, starting from
<http://bowfinprintworks.com/BauhausFaces.html>.

Don't ask "Why is there road rage?" Instead, ask
"Why NOT Road Rage?" or "Why Is There No Such
Thing as Fast Enough?"

It looks a lot like Tabasco Light, at
<http://bowfinprintworks.com/BauhausFaces6.html>

That appears to have been a Letraset font; if there's a digital version
somewhere I'm not finding it.

And then, naturally enough, I find http://fontpark.net/font/tabasco-bold/en
mere minutes after posting that.

Yes. And on that page, look at the next font below it. It appears that
Tavrida Ad is a bold version of Tabasco.

Weatherly Systems Inc (WSI) cloned it as Tabatha

There are versions of Tabasco labeled as being from B&P Graphics,
Softmaker, and Brendel (all one and the same). The Tavrida AD and
Tavrida ADC (Cyrillic) names are used by Paratype, with the font
copyrights attributed to "SoftUnion Ltd."

The Solotype Catalog and various of the Dan Solo Dover alphabet books
list Tabasco Light, Medium, and Bold. I haven't found a digitized font
version of Tabasco Light.

Tabasco (the original) was designed by John Schaedler.

Tabasco (Schaedler) Tavrida (SoftUnion)
