Anybody have an idea of where I can get a free waldorf-looking,
anthroposophic font?

Thanks!

Basically $40 for 11 fonts is a bargain (http://www.waldorfschrift.de/) but to cover the price these fonts must have other (spiritual) qualities besides design. ;-)

Just about every free font site have similar fonts.

Assuming that you mean Waldorf Script, and having no idea what a font
has to do with any kind of medicine...

There's a free demo version of Bienville by Scriptorium here:

http://www.ragnarokpress.com/scriptorium/month.html

it has only the 26-character English alphabet in upper and lower case.

Look for Upscale Script - an old SSI clone
(google for
"Upscale Script" font
)

Other lookalikes include these:

Waldorf font (SWFTE - out of business)
Park Avenue font (Most foundries)
Diskus font (Adobe, URW)
Paradise font (Corel)
CluKennedySH (Soft Horizons - out of business)
Park Place (WSI - out of business)
Celebrity (Micrologic - status unknown)

If you're still around (I'm reading old messages), you could try Lutz Baar's
site: http://www.menschengeist.de/

Thanks for the link, Fontologist. Lutz also has some great freeware
sans-serif faces that I added here:

http://www.fontspace.com/lutz-baar

I noticed that he has the all-uppercase "Antropos Freefont" available
to download, but there's also a whole "Baar Antropos" font family by
him that is scattered around online (~ 6 faces, uppercase/lowercase,
display, bold, italic, etc..). Anyone know if that family is freeware
also?

These are his commercial fonts, available through and branded by Linotype:

Atlantis™ (1999)
Balder™ (1994)
Feltpen™ (1997)
Kaliber™ (1999)
Nordica™ (1997)
Ordinar™ (1999)
Pisa™ (1997).

As far as I can tell, all of his other fonts that are available at
sites such as

http://www.fontplus.net/fontes/buscar/ (search for Baar)

are legitimately free.

I have 8 Antropos family members: Display, Aidfont, Bold, BoldItalic,
Caps, Engschrift, Italic, and just plain Antropos.

In addition to the 5 Antropos' , that site also includes Lutz'

Baar Goetheanis
Baar Lemuria
Baar Zeitgeist
