I didn't know that he (they) designed any.
(But there WAS a baptismal font in the Search for the Holy Grail)

Yes, being specific is good :)

Note that fonts do NOT have color - that has to be added graphically.

Google for
Western Fonts

There are quite a few that fit that general appearance. (And many of
them are free, such as the ones you'll find on the first google hit).

ALso, the Dan X. Solo Dover book/CD of Circus fonts (named "Circus
Alphabets")

Look for "Circus Ornate"

If you're looking for EXACT matches, that takes a little more hunting.

There's also a pantheon of graphic alphabets, primarily for building
websites. What you're looking for is a little harder to find because the
phrase "western alphabet" just means the abc's. There are
clipart/alphabet sites that have things like that though.

Cast Iron by West Wind fonts is VERY close.

The first one is very similar to a font called "JF Ringmaster",
available from:

As for the second, I don't know, somehow it looks slightly more
"Western" than "Circus"...

I have the two fonts that you are looking for on my web site
www.fontmesa.com

The first font used for Monty Python is an old font originally named
Circus and was designed in the year 1820 in France, I have drawn this
font and designed a lowercase set of letters where there was none
before, I've named my version Home Style.

The second font in the MP logo is an old font originally named Carnival,
I've named my version Rodeo Clown and again I have included a lowercase
in this old font that was caps only.

Monty Python in recent publications has been using Tuscan Ornate,
I also have this font under the name Main Strike, the version that MP
used is from Deiter Steffman who scanned the font and put the outlines
into a font file with out cleaning them up so the quality is very very
poor.
You'll find that my fonts are very clean and display better.
