I want this font in True Type format. Adobe sells it in postscript
but nothing in our ship runs postscript. Are there any other vendors
that make something close.

The design originated at Linotype and is only available in Type 1. Of
course, it comes with a free copy of ATM so you should have no problem
using it.

I recently organised some site licences for a client for Linotype fonts, I
was a little surprised that ATM *did not* come with the package. But they
apparently will convert any of their PS fonts to TT for you at no
additional cost.

Somebody sent me the Memphis font and told me it was similar to the
Versailles. I could not read it. Does anybody know where I can get a
copy of the Memphis TT font.

Somebody is seriously confused. First, Memphis is a trademarked font and
shouldn't be copied like that. Second, it's a slab-serif design,
completely unlike Versailles, which has Latin (triangular) serifs and much
more contrast in its strokes. If you're not sure what you're looking for,
one place you might check is the "type browser" on Adobe's web site, which
will show you decent samples.

Following-up my own posts, this will never do :-)

What I should have added was that these Linotype PS to TT conversions are
just that, conversions not re-digitisations and hinting, some of the
reports I've had are not that flattering. Still you get what you pay for,
which in this case (combined with the PS Type 1 licence), was nothing.
