>Just wondering if it is possible to get the font which the magazine
>'The Economist' uses. It may be called EcoFont, but I'm not sure.
I recall that they commissioned their own font design as part of a style
makeover sometime in the early 90s. Surely it has been licensed or cloned
as software.
It's listed in my old (1994) Monotype catalog as "The Economist", package
9540. The package has 3 weights: regular, demi and bold with the
corresponding italics as well as small caps. I just checked their web page
and they still show it.
I like the font, and bought it via unlock code. My one
disappointment is that the AFM file was generated without
kerning pairs. There is a supplied PFM with kerning info for
MS-Windows users.
Perhaps Agfa-Monotype still sell this font.
