Hi,
I am looking for an illuminated manuscript type font, one where the
letters appear as big block letters, as in the first letter of a fairy tale,
or something found on the first letter of a page in illuminated bibles. Can
anyone point me in the right direction?

Many Thanks,
Kevin

take a look at "Scriptorium"...  quite a few "illuminated initial" fonts... check out Chaucerien at the bottom of the William Morris page.
