Apparently, Microsoft no longer supplies Arial Narrow as a standard Windows
font under Windows XP. I've used it pretty extensively iin my Excel
spreadsheets, and don't want to go through the hassle of reformatting each
and every one of them. Is there a way that I can "migrate" Arial Narrow
from a Windows 98 or Office 2000 CD onto my system? I've browsed the CD,
including the .CAB files, and can't find anything like Arial Narrow (which,
I expect, would be something like "arialn.tt*). Thanks in advance for any
help you can provide.

Has it really ever been a standard Windows font? I think it only comes with
Office.

You can probably install it by using Office setup program.

When I did a clean re-installation of Windows 98 and Office XP, the font was
there, but when I subsequently did a clean install of Windows XP and Office
XP, it wasn't, so I'd conclude it was provided by Windows 98 and not Office.
Regardless, someone sent me copies of all the Arial Narrow *.ttf files, so
I'm all set. Thanks for your response.

If you want to import the font into XP, follow these simple
instructions.
1. I posted the 4* Arial Narrow font files (from windows 2000) at:
http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/ny5ny5/ArialNarrow.zip
Simply download these files into any folder besides the font folder.
2. Open the Control Panel. From there, open "Fonts".
3. Open the File Menu and click on "Install New Font".
4. Open the fonts and install each separately.

Note: This is the process for Windows 2000. The XP process may differ
slightly, but try it this way.

*Normal, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic

FWIW: ^^^^^^^^
You will need to put that in one line.

I apologize for posting the Arial Narrow fonts online. Since they are
not shareware or freeware, I have removed them.
