I heard a whisper on the ng's a while ago that VirtualPC lets Voodoo 3
cards "bleed" thru to the emulated PC.

Is this documented on the 'net somewhere?

Does it still work in VPC4?
Does it work with other 3D cards? Other PCI cards?
Does it have OK performance?
Has anyone done it?

Thanks! I'd be grateful for any answers.

It is at Connectix ;-) And IIRC in the VPC manual.

No. Due apparently to the changes made in VPC 4 for "endian" issues.

No. Just Voodoo cards.

It let me play Jedi Knight at acceptable frame rates on a G3-equipped
PM7500 with a Voodoo1 last year, but haven't used it since. =)

See above =)

Also try http://vpcguide.cjb.net where you'll find a whole swag of
information (I know, 'cause I used to run the site some time ago ;-) )

OK! I've got VirtualPC running nice with the Voodoo1 card I've borrowed,
and I have the latest copy of Halflife running fine with the MiniGL
drivers - it works!

Except:
1) The mouse is crazy in Halflife (mouselook mode) (when you mouse it up
it "sticks" there, requriring alot of down movment to get it down - and
ditto if you move it down). This is a Logitech ADB mouse, but I don't
have any problems with it anywhere else.

2) I can't get the console window down. I've made a shortcut with
-console, etc - but it seems like the button in the upper-left corner
isn't mapped correctly. Also, the right-alt button doesn't function as
Alt-gr, so I can't type @ or \ in the Virtual PC. This is a Swedish
Apple Extended keyboard.

Anybody have any idea how to fix any of this?

(If anybody cares, this is a PowerMac 7500 with a Sonnet 500mHz/1MB G3
with 80 MB RAM.)

Not all keyboards differentiate between left and right modifiers. I
think VPC works around this; to get alt-gr, hold down Command and
Option/Alt.
