Hi,

Can someone post a Makefile for MAME for the Fedora 10 Linux operating
system?

Thanks if anyone can help!

Looks to me like you'd be better off with sdlmame.

Yum should be able to install a pre-built binary.
Worked for me on FC8.

What is better/different about "SDL" MAME?

It's different/better in that it uses the SDL libraries for graphics and
sound instead of the X libraries and OSS. It has superseded xmame,
which is no longer being developed.

I didn't actually use either.
I first looked at the state of the makefiles in mame
and it looked pathetic and un-maintained.

Then I found SDL-mame. Given the vintage of the original
mame, an SDL based mame has to be more modern and it's going
to be more compatible with what you are using.

The fact that I could install a pre-built binary seemed like a
compelling reason to use SDL-mame.

Take your pick, old, unsupported, can't compile
vs.
recent, available, pre-compiled.
