I have an old iMac that is running on OS X 10.6.8 and all of the new Xcodes aren't available on a Mac like mine. Could someone please tell me how to download an older version of Xcode that is available for my Mac. Also, if I download this older version, will people that are on iOS 8/9 be able to go on them? I'm guessing that in the app description it will say availble for iOS 5 and so on? Thanks for all your help!
You can download old Xcode versions from the Downloads link in the iOS Dev Center if you have a paid developer program membership. If you just have a free membership then I don't think the older versions are available.
Describe 'doesn't work' - try to to put some effort into this time, rather than phoning it in and making others guess....won't download? Downloads but borked? Download is good but won't install? Install works but won't run? Runs but crashes? Runs ok but doesn't like your projects?

Apple, Inc. purchased the SoundJam MP application in 2000 which was an mp3 player for Mac in the early days and was redeveloped to include CD burning and a simplified UI; the app was renamed to iTunes with the version 1.0 release in January 2001. A few months later version 1.1 was released, bundled with Mac OS X v10.0 it included updates to the visual effects, support for more CD burners, stability/performance improvements and multi-lingual support. iTunes 2.0 was the first version to support the original iPod. iTunes 3.0 saw the introduction of the Smart Playlist which is a clever tool that organizes music suited to your taste i.e. Jazz, pop or songs with high ratings. Version 3.0 also came with audiobook support.
The music store, later renamed to the iTunes store arrived in iTunes 4.0.
Video playback support was introduced in version 4.8 but was much later improved in iTunes 7.x, along with major GUI changes and better iPod syncing.
Leading up to iTunes 8.0 we saw support for Apple TV and newly emerging devices such as the iPhone. Consequently in version 7.7 the iPhone and iPod touch were enabled to act as remotes for wireless iTunes control.
Leading up to the release of version 10.5.3.3 in 2012 we saw support for latest versions of the iPhone and the newly emerged iPad which included Wi-Fi Syncing and much improvements to the iTunes store providing application and book downloads.
iTunes 4.0 up to 7.3.2 compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7. All versions later than 7.3.2 no longer support Windows 2000; only support for XP/Vista/7.
There have been a number of complaints from users concerning the fact latest versions of iTunes fail to work with certain old versions of the Mac OS. The latest ServeToMe 4 for Mac requires a 64-bit Mac running Mac OS X 10.9 or newer.
Users of Mac OS X 10.7 can download ServeToMe 4 build 0165 and Users of Mac OS X 10.6.8 can download ServeToMe 4 build 0129. These builds should work correctly with the latest versions of StreamToMe in most cases but you should *disable* the "Verify external address on startup" checkbox on the Advanced tab (it will give misleading results) and if you're running the 0129 build with StreamToMe on iOS 10 or newer, you must leave the "Users" table empty or you will encounter playback errors when trying to play media.
ServeToMe does not work with iTunes downloaded through the Windows Store. On the iTunes download page, you must look under the "Looking for other versions?" heading and select "Windows" to download the version outside the Windows Store.
ServeToMe 4 is recommend for all users of StreamToMe 3 and newer. If your computer doesn't meet the requirements or you're having problems and would like to try an alternative, you're welcome to try the previous version of the ServeToMe server from the following download links:
"Local servers" discovery and port mapping require Bonjour (part of iTunes or download separately from Apple.com as part of the Bonjour Print Service for Windows). ServeToMe requires .NET 3.5 or greater. If not present, you will be prompted to download .NET 4.0 when you run the ServeToMe installer.

When we connect the iPhone to this computer, we get an error window saying "The iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.1 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."
However, the iTunes download page says that iTunes 10.1.2 requires OS X 10.5 or later, and indeed, trying to download and install that version results in an error window saying "This package type requires Mac OS X 10.5."
(This is all a bit surprising, because iTunes 9.2.1 worked fine with an older iPhone and with an iPod Touch. It's hard for me to imagine what new magic in 10.5 is required to support syncing with a slightly newer model of iPhone.)
If you wish to force a sync from your Mac, as you might after downloading or adding new content to your iTunes library, select your device in the iTunes sidebar and click the Sync button in the lower right corner of the iTunes window. You can continue using your device during the sync; it proceeds happily in the background.
