Is there an app out there that will let you create and copy files to
CPM disks, much like Star Commander? I see tons of CPM software out
there, but Im not sure how to get it onto a D64 image to use in VICE.

Thanks

You don't need it in a disk image to use it.

Point your drive to the correct directory. Or just copy the file right
into the d64. I use 64copy but star commander does this too.

btw, why didn't you post in csc?

I tried using 64Copy to open any of the D64 CPM images i have, and it
says "The disk directory is damaged! (is this a valid image?) Run
CHECKDISK to try to correct the problems.", so it seems 64Copy isn't
able to read the disks. Is there a special setting somewhere to make
this work?

Since I know nothing about the CPM format, I doubt it uses the same D64
directory layout. Sending me images might help, but I would need tech docs
on the layout.

Sorry for the bad advice.

You say the cpm files are already in a d64?

Where are you getting these files?

In vice, try going to settings/peripherals and changing the directory
to point to the folder where your files are located. They should be
individual files, not in an image file.

You should post this in csc.

Ah no luck there either. But I did find a utility called CTools that
will create a D64 or D71 image formatted for CPM, and then let you copy
CPM files to those disk images. Im a bit babied with Windows point
and click, so if there's any other option over command line, Id
appreciate the info.
I never played around much with CPM on the 128, but this is rather
cool.
