Hello All!

I think I found a bug in Vice 1.3 for MS-DOS, witch is triggered by one
of my favourite games: Rally Speedway. Everytime I start the game, Vice
exits with "Received signal 291" at the point of the game on which the
race actually starts (after the title and options screen).

Here's the complete vice.log:

I tried two different sources for Rally Speedway: One of my old
C64-disks and the Blast collection. I also tried two different PCs.
Needless to say: both without success (I wouldn't post a message here if
I succeeded, wouldn't I?).

WinVice 1.3 or DOS-Vice 1.2 are both running my beloved Rally Speedway
flawlessly.

Any tips? Is this in fact a bug within Vice 1.3 which can/will be fixed
in a future version?

I'm quit sure the problem is due to a bug in the context of
multicolor-sprites (just an unititialized variable) that we found just one
or two days _after_ :-( releasing VICE1.3. It is fixed in the next release.

And you are right. The game is great!!!

Bye, Andreas

I admit, I was too lazy too report it until now, but while you guys
are at it, could you please look at the "freezer button" handling,
too? At least under DOS, this thing seems to be ignored completely
with the Atomic Power Cartridge, and makes the emulator completely
bail out (i.e. back to DOS) with the FC1. Or is it just me?

Greets,
Chris.

Sounds great! Not the fact that there is a bug, but that it has been
located and will probably be fixed in the next release.

Never got much publicity, though. Best settings IMHO are: Max speed 200,
icy roads and normal acceleration. Combining that with one of the more
complex track layouts is endless fun. :-)

Hi,

Now that I'm reading this, I might as well report a bug myself.

320x200 resolution (the default) doesn't work anymore. The screen is
split. Is this a known issue ? (it worked under all other versions
just fine). My card is a Rage Pro chipset.....
