I have an idea. We all know how many .SHK files there are out there. And we
all know that working with these files on a PC tends to be a pain in the
#$#*$#.

If anyone can give me the information on how ProDos arranges information on
the diskette, and some hardware specs on the Disk II and 3.5" apple drives, I
will write a utility to directly convert .SHK files into DSK images for use in
revival.

I dont see any reason why it wont work. There will just need to be some logic
to "place" the files on the "diskette" and create all the appropriate
directories on the "virtual disk".

Right? Wrong? Crazy? Let me know what you think. It would help a great deal if
we could get a real SHK->DSK conversion utility...

well, NULIB extracts .SHK files to raw prodos-order dumps (.PO) which are
usable by most emulators, or can be converted by revival to .2MG files...

that is, of course, if the .SHK contains a _disk_ archive, and not a _file_
archive, the latter case will render a horrific conversion...
