I recently downloaded the Nibble archives from Asimov
( /pub/apple_II/images/utility/misc/nibble_magazine ) and there are
some 0-length files and some corrupt files.

The broken files are:

nibble291.shk (feb '91)
nibble292.shk (feb '92)
nibble489.shk (apr '89)
nibble789.shk (jul '89)
nibble889.shk (aug '89)

Anyone have the complete working archive? Or just the above files?

Thanks!

There seem to be good versions of two of the above in the same folder.
Try nibble.489.shk and nibble.789.shk .

Also, 291 and 292 are repeated as 291b and 292b.

Thanks, I figured this out and tried to cancel my original newsgroup
message, but I guess I was too slow. :)

I've converted all of the nibble .shk files to .po disk images (bootable
in AppleWin).

I've renamed them so they sort properly and uploaded them to Asimov. (I
figured the .shk files gave me lots of grief, so all my time getting
them to work will probably help others.)

It's sure to. Thanks for a great contribution, Sally!

Another good place to upload the Nibble images is Ground at ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/upload/ .

Just noticed that your Nibble magazine disk images have made it to
Asimov's main "unsorted" folder at ...

ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/unsorted/ .

Is this where they'll end up permanently? Who's in charge of Asimov
anyway?

This site seems empty -- is it an upload-only site? Where do the images
end up?

the upload directory is write-only.

Check ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/upl2004/Apr04/Nibble

When going to that URL, I get a 'permission denied' response. It looks
like access to folders in /upl2004/Apr04/ is handled differently than access to
files. (Do not seem to have the same problem accessing folders inside the
/upl2004/Feb04/ folder.)

Is the Nibble collection going to be in Ground's "Collections" area?

The person in charge of Asimov is Modus. There's an email address on the
page at ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/ .

Don't know how long it may take for your Nibble stuff to get moved to one
of the regular folders. Once it is, the FAQs link will change to point to the
new location.
