I used to have a Apple ][+ and I had a cool game called Millionware(not
millionare, millionware). It might be millionare, but I am pretty sure
it was Millionware. Anyway, I sold my Apple ][ and I really miss it so I
got an emulator, but I can't find Millionware. Does anybody have a disk
or disk image for Millionware? If you have one, could I have a copy?

*laugh* You sound as desperate as I feel to re-experience the Apple II
world. I haven't gotten to the point of begging yet, but I may soon!

SOMEONE SEND ME APPLEWORKS GS! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Anyway.

I searched for your game via several places listed at
http://www.cstone.net/~rbraun/misc/a2ftp.html

Didn't find it. :(

Anyone know of better places to launch an Apple II software search from?

Yes...the name is Millionware. If you ever find a copy...let me know!! I
wish I could think of the 'host' and 'hostess' names. They were real cute.

I'm not sure what the original poster was looking for but I don't THINK it
was THIS game.

I, too, am looking for an old Apple II game titled, 'Millionware'. Yes,
it's WARE not AIRE. The description for the game you listed is a
stock-market simulation. MillionWARE was a 'game-show' type program where
you answered trival questions about the computer.

The repeating shouldn't be on the ending E, it should be on the middle E,
like this:

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!

Hi Drake,

The game / quiz show game is actually called "Millionwaire" - with the "WAIRE". :) It's a play on the word "millionaire".

The disk image is on a few web sites - see the link posted a the reply above for one. 2 different disk images are also on Asimov - one with 2 crack screens and then the Millionwaire title screen, and the other doesn't have any crack screens but the title screen isn't displayed either - have not had a chance to see what might be going on yet ....

I think Jason Scott created one of the backup disk images .... at least, that's what one web site said.

A few days ago, I started poking around the Millionwaire disk image and found the data file and worked out how the questions, answers, categories, etc were stored (very simple format), and created a remake (using the same data file) for Windows PCs - called "Millionwaire Remake" (freeware, of course). Doesn't have the charm of the original Apple ][ version though ...
