I had the exactly same problem that you have. What you need is a little
gzip.exe file that you use to extract the .dsk files. Type "gzip -d
file.name" to extract the file. Once the disk image has been extracted,
rename its extention to "whatever.dsk". If the original image file has
an extention name .do, use "whatever.do" as the file name after the
extraction. If it is .dsk, use "whatever.dsk". You can find this
gzip.exe file on the archive server where you find your copy of
Applewin. Think of it as an adventure!! Note: winzip won't extract
those disk images for you. As far as I know all the disk image files
are bootable, so just insert any of them in drive 1 and click on the big
apple to run it! Good luck!

p.s. The version of Applewin that I have is 1.03

p.p.s. As far as I know, the import and export buttoms are for
transferring disk image files to MS-DOS files (and vice versa).

Note: winzip WILL extract those images. Winzip has no problems
unpacking .gz compressed file. A lot easier to use then MS-DOS gzip.
Winzip will associate the .gz extension so you can double-click the .gz
file and then run the program from within the archive without having
to unpack it.
