emacs + macsyma = ZMACS ??????????

I use Gnu-emacs as my editor and I also use macsyma alot. I noticed that
when I type describe(tex) in macsyma it says something about Zmacs. Well what
is Zmacs? Is it an emacs clone that interfaces with macsyma? Can I interface
my Gnu emacs with macsyma?

Any information would be appreciated.
