I am beginning to write my own mappings for vim, and I wonder bout a good
choice for a leader and/or a localleader, since I don't want my mappings to
collide with existing ones.
The default leader is \, but I don't like this very much, since I'm using an
azerty keyboard most of the time, and I need AltGr ton get a \, which is a
bit tedious for mappings I am likely to use often.
I think ,; and so on are not good leader, since they are also used for
repeating f/F and t/T searchs, but I am actually not sure to know what
would happen if I used them.
I would welcome any advice or personnal experience on the subject.
Thanks in advance,
Manuel.
You could use a function key, or try the alt key on some character and use that.
Frisbee
I use , as my leader and it hasn't really affected the way the fF and tT
work. Perhaps because I mostly use imaps (maps that work only in
insert-mode).
