Does anyone in here know anything about WebDAV? It stands for Web
Distributed Authoring and Versioning, and is a protocol that extends HTTP
and enables you to use that protocol to make file system commands: move,
copy, delete, etc. I idea is to enable remote document management via HTTP.

Does anyone know if this protocol has been released yet? Is there a
WebDAV-capable client or server available?

I've been to http://www.webdav.org, but I didn't find anything that really
helped me

Oh, forget it. I found what I need on www.webdav.org. I just wasn't
looking hard enough.

Sorry.

Well, no, I guess I haven't found what I want after all. Here's what I
want:

A WebDAV server that I can run on Windows 98 and a client tool that enables
others to map a Web Folder to this server.

Does such a product exist, or are we not there yet?

Apache 3.12 with mod_dav for your server. MSIE 5.0 or better with web
folders enabled for your client.

I understand Microsoft IIS also has webdav server capabilities.

I haven't found a Windows client that works with locks or implements
any versioning. If you find one, I'd be interested.

Hi,

look at www.ietf.org for information about webdav (some working group) & you
need a server and client supporting webdav.

as far as I know www.hyperwave.com
has added support to their system other might as well.
