Jason,

All your settings should remain in tact (including NAT).

The only thing to be wary of is if you have the older 675 that have the
power transformer at the plug. Some of these units can't be flashed past
2.0.1

Good luck,

For the most part, it keeps your settings. However, you will want a copy of
them, just in case. You will also want a copy of the 'monitor mode' install
procedure, even if you use one of the higher access methods, such as tftp,
just in case something goes wrong (a power outage or computer crash in the
middle of the upgrade, during the do not disturb portion, perhaps), and you
have to 'bring it back from the dead.'

However, if you are in PPP mode, and have manually opened any NAT ports, you
can erase them, and start over. While it should keep them, and the old
format is still recognized, CBOS 2.2 has a MUCH better and shorter method of
coding those entries (see the 2.2 release notes for details).

When one upgrades the CBOS on a Cisco 675, does it wipe out all settings
that were previously used (such as login name, ppp or bridging, etc...),
or does it keep whatever settings it can (assuming they are the same
syntax and stuff in the new version)? Thinking about upgrading from 2.0.3
(i think...might be 2.0.1) to 2.2.

Nope, the config and the OS are stored in seperate portions of the memory.
Upgrade away!

One last question...does the equipment at the other end have to be
upgraded to work with 2.2, or is it something you can do at the user end
and still be ok?

Thanks,
Jason

It is a user end thing (unlike bridging/routing mode which many try
changing, but which must be the same at both ends). However, certain of the
fancier functions (such as adjusting the remote transmit power) may not work
if both ends are not up-to-date.

Okay...one last question...found the file for the 2.2 upgrade, but
wondering if anyone has a copy of the 2.0.3 CBOS just in case for some
reason it doesn't want to cooperate and we need to "reinstall" so to
speak...and if that's even possible once one has upgrade to 2.2 (that is,
to downgrade if necessary).

Thanks again,
Jason
