I've got a Zyxel 642R DSL modem/router which has been giving flawless
service since it was installed a few months ago. This was not surprising,
given my proximity to the CO (about 3000 wire-feet). However, recently
I've been having the line go down frequently. Poking around in the config
screens, I don't see any status information more detailed than line up or
down, which isn't very helpful.

Is there any way to get more detailed line status info out of the box,
either through the CLI or using SNMP? I would think things like
singnal-to-noise ratio, codeword violations, and the like would all be
instrumented somewhere.

A mib walk of the box just shows the standard mib2 stuff like interfaces
and tcp/ip stats. I've got a copy of the ZYXEL-MIB, but that doesn't have
anything that looks useful, and doesn't appear to be implemented in the box
anyway.
