Windows NT 4.0 with SP5 & RRAS
Netopia R9100 Ethernet Router W/VPN Firmware
Trying to accomplish the following:
Establish a VPN between the Equipment over the internet that allows all
clients behind the Netopia and the NT Box to communicate to each other.
Current Problems:
I am limited to what networks I can communicate with.
Either the clients behind the Netopia can reach everything behind the NT box
but clients
behind the NT box are unable to communicate behind the Netopia or
vice-versa.
There is one network behind the Netopia and there is three networks
behind the NT box.
The Netopia can serve as a VPN host or client.
Windows NT can server as a VPN host or client.
I have several NT Servers all running SP5/RRAS. There are additional
hardware routers on the networks behind the NT boxes.
I have eliminated all routing problems between the routers and RRAS
within the LAN behind the NT box.
However it seems that the interface to the VPN tunnel, on the NT box doesn't
actually
acknowledge it and therefore doesn't route IP across the VPN from the LAN.
I've seen some very bizarre routing tables on the NT box that provides
the VPN host which is propegated across all routers via RIP.
Does anyone truly understand Microsoft implementation of PPTP/VPNS?
By any chance is anyone familiar with the Netopia product?
Let me know,
Thank you for all help/comments in advance!
