I am currently assisting a customer with an Option 51 Nortel PABX (Rls
19 software) connect to the C.O. with a DMS Switch through analog DID
lines. We have configured our XUT card ports as Loop Dial Repeating,
Winkstart. For some reason the C.O. guys are having a problem making
this arrangement work. What type of card on the DMS ( I think it's a
DMS-100 that the C.O. is using) would be used to interface to the XUT
card on the PABX? Any info regarding this matter would be greatly
appreciated.

Why don't you set the XUT to DID, instead of LDR?

The Universal Trunk card is programmed as a DID trunk. Loop dial repeating
is the setting for the signaling type. Using a butt set, we are able to dial
into the PABX using any combination of DTN and DIP class of service, and IMM
or WNK start arrangement, so we know that the PABX programming isn't the
problem.

Dont forget on wink start lines, the T/R is polarity sensitive!
Your butt set isnt.......try rolling tip/ring......
Sounds like your Telco is screwed up!!!
(or are they trying to DTMF in instead of DP? Also they MAY be set
for MF instead!!)

If the DMS is using a line card for each DID line than your options are
loop start or ground start. Wink start is a trunk signal and would be
used on a PBX type trunk group (analog or digital).
