Flash: invalid chip id 0x9105
unable to configure flash for erase or write
Flash chips recognized by system:
(table of information)
We have a small office pool on what is wrong. My guess is that
the System Bootstrap (which is version 3.3) does not recognize the new
Flash simms. Thoughts anyone?
Thanks!
Yup. If you have non-Intel parts on your flash SIMMs, you need recent
boot ROMs. The latest is 10.2(8a) and you should be able to get them from
Cisco. You'll also need a PLCC extraction tool, available from Jameco/
Mouser/etc.

I've had problems with flash Simms labelled:-
SMART SM732C2000BFJ20
Chips are labelled JAPAN 29f016-12pftn
These flash simms require 10.2(8a) boot roms to be recognised.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I was lookin at 11.2 requirements yesterday and to run 11.2 on the 2500
platform you need 11.0.10 bootroms. Also older bootroms won't recognize
some memory upgrades. Check:
