We're debating on whether to connect our Sysplex 3-390 MF system to our
LAN. The LAN consists of 2 1010's, 7507, and a few dozen Cat5's.

What's flawed about Tolly test 7291 (etc) ?

Do a search on the Cisco WEB site - There is comparison information the
2216's vs Cisco CIP and also info on the rubbish Tolly Report.

We have had CIP2 for several years now and they have proved very reliable.
Depending on the type of OS/390 complex (BiPolar vs CMOS) and what features
you are looking for (TN3270 Server etc), an alternative to CIP is the OSA2
adapters or the OSA Next Generation adapters available on the CMOS G5 boxes.

Regards,
Dwayne.
