Hello all. I am looking for some information about the ability of an
AGS+ or 7000 to answer IPX diagnostic packets. Does any version of
the software allow opening of socket 453? The reason for wanting to
do so is to monitor the status of a port routing IPX.

Thanks for any help.

Here is my ressponse to your posting on comp.sys.novell:

IPX/SPX diag packets are not supported in cisco routers. It is not a
requirement to support the diagnostic packet to be Novell IPX Router
certified by Novell Labs.

IPX RIP Routers have no 'services' and don't advertise themselves.

9.21(2.1) is now available. Yes, 9.21 was Novell Labs tested and approved.

Novell seems to be moving towards favoring the multi-vendor standard
of SNMP (either via IP or IPX) even so far as to provide IPX Router
MIB definitions in the new NLSP specification. I see no mention
of the diagnostic packet in the NLSP specification.
