Can RDI alarm initiates traffic switching??

Pl tell me whether LP-RDI, HP-RDI & MS-RDI are traffic affected
alarms?? I want to know, whether these alarms can initiate SNCP & MSP/
MSSP protection switching respectively??

NO!
These are only used as failure report to be used for performance
monitoring and fault localisation.

Please read ITU-T G.841, G.808.1 to see which signals trigger
protection switching, and how the APS protocol is used to
synchronise both sides.

RDI / RFI are remote failure indications and they doesn't have
consequent actions unlike AIS-L / P
