These messages recently came up for me recently on my Thinkpad 365ED
laptop running RedHat Linux 4.2 with a Home & Away Credit Card Adapter. It
had been running just fine for the past year. Recently, since the
purchase of a Catalyst switch, it began to act funny. When moving from
port to port with my Laptop (depending on my location) I would have to
clear the MAC address from the switches memory before having it
re-recognize my laptop (or so I thought). This problem seemed to get
worse and worse until now my Home and Away Network Adapter is useless. I
have tested this adapter on the Windoze 95 side of my machine as well with
no reachability to any other hosts.

eth0: Too much work at interrupt, status 0x02
eth0: mismatched read page pointers 5c vs 5a.
eth0: mismatched read page pointers 58 vs 56.
eth0: mismatched read page pointers (many other combinations all differing by 2).
eth0: unexpected TX-done interrupt, lasttx=20.

Also looking at Ethernet MAC numbers down the pipe (the Cisco Catalyst
switch reports):

Showing: 08 00 5A C8 6E 00
Should be: 08 00 5A CA 6E 02

Notice there are differences in 2 bit positions (bits 1 and 17).

For Linux cardctl knowledgeable persons:

cardctl status returns:
Socket 0:
Function 0:
card present, ready, battery dead, battery low
Function 1:
card present, battery dead, batter low, request attention
Function 2:
card present, ready
Socket 1:

cardctl config returns:
Socket 0:
Vcc = 5.0, Vpp1 = 0.0, Vpp2 = 0.0
Card type is memory and I/O
IRQ 3 is exclusive, level mode, enabled
Speaker output is enabled
Function 0:
Config register base: 0x1020
Option = 0x57, status = 0x08, pin = 0000, ext = 0000
I/O window 1: 0x0300 to 0x031f, 16 bit
Function 1:
Config register base = 0x1040
Option = 0x47, status = 0x08, pin = 0000, ext = 0000
I/O window 1: 0x03e8 to 0x03ef, 8 bit
Socket 1:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
