It has already been mentioned here that the Motorola BitSURFR
Pro Rev. L is on Motorola's Web Page. The problem however is
that the Web Page makes the assumption you have an "older"
BitSURFR Pro. Motorola made a few changes to the BitSURFR Pro
hardware this year. Models with a date code of about 2097 or
later will need a different Rev. L than the Motorola Web Page
gives you. There are two firmwares now, a 1L (for BitSURFRs
prior to about 2097 and the one the Web page gives you) and a
3L (for the newer BitSURFRs with a date code of 2097 or later).
The changes were to the actually hardware and hence require
different firmwares. You can get 3L (or 1L) by using the
following link:

ftp://www.mot.com/pub/MIMS/ISG/BitSURFR_Pro/windows/

To tell if you have a "1" or "3" board Motorola BitSURFR you
can issue and ATI8 and if you currently have a 1[something]
then you need Rev. 1L. If you currently see that you have a
3K then you need 3L.

As far as the hardware changes, they really aren't too
significant. They actually were manufacturing decisions so
that the hardware of US/Canada and International BitSURFRs are
the same. In addition, I beleive they wanted to use some
common parts in all the BitSURFRs (Pro, EZ and International)
to simply Bill Of Materials and such.

Hopefully this message can save someone a call to Motorola
Tech Support.
