Are ISDN-specific phones still needed for ISDN lines(particularly home ISDN)
or are there adaptors that allow analogue devices to be connected?

Thanks in advance!

Kevin,

You can use a regular (analogue) phone, fax machine, etc... as long as
you'r using an ISDN Terminal Adapter that supports POTS connection(s), or
an NT-1 Plus device that supports POTS. I don't have any specific brand
names to give you, but there are tons of TA's and NT-1's that support this
feature. I'm sure some of the other newsgroup regulars can help you out
:). Hope this helps a little.

For your application you could use the new Siemens Optiset.
The Optiset is an ISDN phone that accepts different add-on adaptors.
One of these adaptors is an Analog adaptor that allows one to connect
any type of analog device (i.e. fax, modem, phone, answering machine).

Hope this helps.
