I've been following this group for a while now, assuming that I'd be
involved with ISDN issues sooner or later. Well, that time is getting
very near, and I am beginning to realize how little I know...
I'm thinking of setting up an ISDN dialin pool to allow people to
dial in to work from their homes. What I am looking for is an ISDN
"terminal server", i.e. a box that provides 8-16 BRI connections, some
sort of caller authentication, and the possibility for callback. Do
such beasts exist (yet)? If not, what are my options?
I would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has implemented a
similar setup, with details! What hardware did you choose, both on
the server side and at the other end.
Thanks in advance for any replies,

Hi,
I've just found myself in the same boat as Eric. I have to investigate the
possible migration to, or addition of, a dialin ISDN pool. We currenly have a
couple of hundred modems for POTS dial-ups (BELL103-V.32bis) and are looking
at adding V.34 and/or ISDN support. I am looking for the same info. as
mentioned above but, in particular, is there anyone out there who has
experience with these 'hybrid TA's' that handle an ISDN call or a
V.34 analog call? Do they do a good job in each arena or are they so-so in
both areas?

Another option is to use RAS with NT. We have been using it with
Digiboards ISDN card for up to 64 connections 8 cards X 4 BRI per card.
It gets real slow after 32 ports but it works great as a ppp dialin server
Give me a shout if you need more details or info...
