I've looked through many threads in this group regarding ATM payload
scrambling and reasons why you want to. I am looking into if there is
a real word need to scramble the payload in ATM cells when it is
carried over an unchannelized DS3. For applications out there using
DS3 for ATM, is payload scrambling being done, and why? The standards
and many point out it is to improve the security and robustness of HEC
cell delineation, but what are the real world problems that would force
someone to enable scrambling for the payload?
The question was asked in a related post but was not answered. "How
extensively is ATM cell scrambling used in the real world?"
