how not to use the timestamp type:

look at the "shipment progress"
if you ignore the unexpected package routing. (USA->AKL->SYD->AKL->CHC)
you'll note that the earlier (lower) lines don't follow chronological order
proceesed, arrived in auckland, left vendor, timestamps no sort of order.
what order are those rows in ??
it should be possible to normalise a collections of local timestamps
combined with ther locales, perhaps these guys have managed to get the
correction backwards.
like if they used AT TIME ZONE with the original timestamp, that would
make it worse.
