Recently I bought a new wireless network printer. My old DOS dBase
won't talk to it, and mysteriously won't even allow me to output to an
ascii file, perhaps because there's now nothing attached to the parallel
port.
So I dug out my copy of Visual dBase 5.5, purchased many years ago
(on seven floppies!) and never used to any extent, probably because I
considered it too confusing. I've stumbled along and now have reached
the point where I can print a listing (from a query) of books not yet
returned to the library. I'd like to do more with it, but I tossed the
manuals several years ago when we moved to a small condo.
Now to get to the point:
Is there any agreement on the best after-market book for Visual dBase
5.5? Our local public library seems to have weeded out *all* dBase
books from the collection. But I notice the older titles seem to be
available on abebooks.com, including Using Visual dBASE 5.0/5.5 for
Windows. Would that be a good one to purchase?
Suggestions welcome.
