Why don't totio/totcpu change?

I'm trying to clean up the inactive users on my box, via checking their
totio & totcpu. There's one login that I know for sure was used by
myself, and yet it's totio value=0. Today I ran several queries on
purpose under it, but totio/totcpu remained the same, even several days
later (in case these values are getting flushed from some system
variables).

What might be the case?

These values are not totally reliable. I have seen a load database work
perfectly well, even without the physical_io column getting incremented.

There are other problems however. I had a case with Sybase support on
this a year or so ago. The workaround they suggested (and I implemented)
was setting the 'cpu accounting flush interval' and
'i/o accounting flush interval' to 1.
